The perfect time to eat peaches is July and August which is when they are at their most sweetest, juiciest and nutritious. Peaches are a great source of vitamin A and C, have a low calorie content and are packed with antioxidants, including all five classifications of carotenoids, all helping the body fight free radicals, prevent cancer and heart disease.
Peaches are fantastic for your digestion due to their alkaline content and high fiber, this dietary fiber absorbs water and helps to prevent stomach disorders like constipation, stomach ulcers, irregular bowel movements, gastritis and hemorrhoids. Peaches also have laxative properties which aids to the dissolution of kidney and bladder stones. So next time your needing a little help going, grab the safe and natural option. The cleansing peach.
Peaches contain iron, which is vital for the formation of hemoglobin, a protein that carries oxygen around our bodies through the red blood cells. Oxygen in the body removes toxins leading to better cellular health, slows down the ageing process and strong immune system!
Fights and Prevents Cancer
Peaches have been strongly linked to the prevention and regression of many cancers, making them up there with some of the best cancer fighting foods! The polyphenols in peaches (and plums) inhibited the growth and metastasis (spreading to other organs) of at least one strain of breast cancer cells. Also caffeic acid, the antioxidant found so richly in peaches, can inhibit a type of fibrocarcinoma, a tumor that grows in fibrous connective tissue.
